SUMMER

Spread the love

It’s almost here folks, we had a screwed up winter but SUMMER IS NEARLY HERE!  We’re already seeing 80 degree days here in Texas and the rest of the US of A is catching up as well but really, who gives a shit?  TEXAS is the place to be in the summer.

There’s so much to do in Texas during the summer it isn’t funny!  First off we’ve got the Guadeloupe River.  Do I need to say anymore?  I’ve already got two trips planned to float the river and I’m sure a few more will develop as the summer goes on.  I haven’t owned a tent in YEARS but I’m buying one next month so I’ll be ready for the summer’s excursions.

I want to get a mega tent.  One that has bedrooms and a den and a TV that comes up from the end of my air mattress.  Ok, maybe not quite that “P-Diddy” ish, but I definitely want a cool tent.  If you haven’t gathered this already I LOVE being outside.  For all I care winter can eat leaves and die, the whole 3 month period is a waste of the year to me.  I hate the snow, I hate the cold, I hate the campiness of the entire season.  And fall isn’t much better, it’s like hanging out with Fun in the hospital until it dies.

But now we’ve started with spring.  It’s time for Scarborough Faire, the Main Street Arts Festival, the Oak Lawn Art Festival, The Botanical Gardens will be blooming in like a week, and soon my entire patio will be covered with greenery.  More than anything it means that winter is over, and I couldn’t be happier about that.

  1. Yeah, thanks for that. The British summer has also kicked in, I noticed this morning as I walked to work in the pissing rain and a gale.
I liked your description of Autumn!
